That is what I hope this information does for you. These are some of the little-known programs from my book “How To Write and Get A Grant.” These are only of few of the thousands of programs that are available, but each one can mean thousands of dollars to you, your family or your friends. Some of these are small and some offer fee expertise instead of money. But believe me, free help and expertise can be more meaningful in your life than money.
The government wants you to get a better job. That is why they give away billions every year just for that purpose. You see, if you get a better job, you will make more money. You will pay more taxes. You will help our country be better qualified to compete in a world economy. By helping yourself, you help America.
No job is safe in our economy. Thousands are losing their jobs every day in companies and organizations where they thought they would work forever. As long as executives see their stock prices rise and their paychecks increase if they downsize, there are going to be layoffs. And as long as our world keeps changing so fast that companies, both large and small, can’t keep up with our fast changing society, there are going to be layoffs. We currently live in an environment where “if you don’t change, you lose.”
Job seekers must do the same. Nowadays you have to continually update your skills and knowledge to compete in our job market. You have to look for new ways to look for work in order to get work. We now live in a society where you have to be more creative to get a job than to do a job.
It used to be that, during the height of the industrial age, you were able to make a good living, earning $50,000 to $100,000 a year, with just a high school education, by working in a factory or the transportation industry. Those days of the high pay for muscle power are gone. We are now in the age of brainpower. Those are the employees who are receiving the high salaries. If you get the proper skills and training you will not have to worry about layoffs. Because if someone does not like you, all you have to do is go across the street and get a better job than the one you had.
AND YOU DO QUALIFY for these programs no matter what your income. Sure some of these programs have income requirements, but many of them have no income requirements at all. It will surprise you to learn what the government considers as needy. For example, the government considers women entrepreneurs disadvantaged if they have $750,000 in the bank. Why, that is almost being a millionaire and you are still considered in need of special help.
