Help With Mortgage, Rent and Credit Counseling…

Contact one or many or your local U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Counseling Agencies. These groups can help with problems concerning your rent or mortgage and some even have grant money to get you through tough times. They can also help with your credit problems or direct you to an organization that can help you without ripping you off. To locate an office near you contact http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/hcc/hccprof14.cfm. Remember if the office near you is not helpful enough contact one a little further away. It could be worth the drive.

Town Offers Money For Home Repairs and Improvements…

Residents of Bensalem Township may be eligible to receive a loan to repair, improve or rehabilitate their home. The Bensalem Township Housing Program is open to all township residents who own and occupy a single-family home. Multi-family structures and rental units are not eligible. Maximum household limits apply. To be eligible, the gross annual income of a household of four cannot exceed $37,000. See

$60,000 If Your Mortgage Payments Are Over 60 Days Late

The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency offers to state residents a loan program designed to protect citizens who, through no fault of their own, are financially unable to make their mortgage payments and are in danger of losing their homes to foreclosure. Participants in the Homeowners’ Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program receive loans to help bring delinquent payments current. Continuing monthly assistance may be available as well. Total financial assistance maximum is $60,000, or 24 months of payments. Participants are expected to contribute $25 per month for payments during the term of the loan.

Get A Grant To Help People Who Need Housing...

Grants are awarded to groups who help people with special needs obtain housing. This could be domestic abuse victims, people with disabilities or families who do not have access to permanent housing. The link is: http://www.abletrust.org/links/agency_listings.shtml

 

$8,000 or MORE to Rehabilitate Your Home

Low- and moderate-income households earning 80% or less of the area median income may be eligible to receive deferred loans of $8,000 or more for home rehabilitation. Loans under $8,000 will be forgiven over a period of five years and assistance over $8,000 will be forgiven over a period of 15 years. The maximum assistance for manufactured housing is $5,000. The Neighborhood Rehabilitation Program is available to owner-occupied properties and will assist with indoor plumbing, health and safety issues, energy conservation and preventive maintenance. All rehabilitation efforts must bring the property up to Housing Quality Standards (HQS) set forth by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The program is funded by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
